Received his master’s degree in French literature from the University of Tokyo. Has been a professor at Kwansei Gakuin University and at Hitotsubashi University. Is now a writer. Author of “Sengo” ga wakakatta koro (When the Postwar Days Were Young), Shinguru raifu (Single Life), and other works.
