Received his doctorate in mathematics from the University of Tokyo. Has been an associate professor at the University of Colorado. Is now a professor at Ochanomizu University. Author of Wakaki sûgakusha no Amerika (A Young Mathematician’s America), Haruka naru Kenburidji (Distant Cambridge), and other works.
